About Tripest

Real gems, backed by real sources — who we are, how the guides are made, and how to reach us.

What Tripest is

Tripest is an independent travel guide for people who want the short list, not the long tail: the places genuinely worth your time to see, do, eat, and stay in each destination. Every guide is built around real, checkable sources rather than anonymous top-10 filler — so you can see where a recommendation came from before you trust it.

How a guide is built

Each destination guide starts from public reference sources — Wikivoyage and Wikipedia — and real video coverage from YouTube travel creators, including local creators where we can find them. We verify that every source actually exists and covers the place in question, rank creator coverage by how well it landed with viewers, and pull the picks that multiple sources agree on. On top of that, AI-written insights summarize the practical advice those sources contain — queues to dodge, dishes to order, neighborhoods to base in.

What we vet — and what we can't promise

We vet sources for authenticity: no invented places, no dead-end links, no AI-generated photos of real cities. What we can't promise is that everything is still true. Venues close, hours and prices change, and we don't re-check them continuously — every guide says this plainly, and shows when its sources were last gathered. Confirm anything you'd be sorry to be wrong about before you set out.

How the site is funded

Tripest is free to use and supported by advertising. Ads never influence which places make a guide — picks are drawn from sources, not sponsors, and no venue can pay to be listed.
